The dictionary defines orthodontics as a branch of dentistry dealing with irregularities of the teeth (as malocclusion) and their correction (as by braces). Orthodontics used to be called orthodontia – a word coming from the Greek orthos, meaning “straight, perfect or proper”, and dontos, which means “teeth”.  An orthodontic specialist is called an orthodontist. While that may be a mouthful, and seem quite complicated, the doctors at Rendon Orthodontics continuously strive to treat their patients better clinically and at a personal level.  A friendly, family oriented practice, customer service and education are the priority at Rendon Orthodontics.

When it comes to oral health, Rendon Orthodontics delivers!  This  husband  and wife  team  has  been  exceeding  the  health-care expectations of the community since opening  their  Frisco  and  Allen  locations  (in 2008 and 2013 respectively).  Both Dr. Maria Castano-Rendon, and Dr. Juan Rendon care about their patients and want to get to know them and make them feel comfortable. In 2016, in an effort to educate their patients,  the  doctors  have  united  forces with  other  orthodontic  specialists  in  the area and created OrthodontistSELECT. (

Dr. Maria Castano-Rendon explains, “Our mission is to educate and inform our neighbors and friends in Frisco, Allen, McKinney and surrounding neighborhoods about the differences  between  dental  care  providers. Patients should be well informed so they can make the best decision for their family’s unique orthodontic care needs.  OrthodontistSELECT practices are dedicated to serving the community where we live. All of our member practices are privately owned – not a franchise of some large corporation.  It’s our commitment to serving our neighbors, our specialized training in orthodontics, and our one-on-one experience with people that makes the difference between what we offer and what can be found at other kinds of dental practices.”

Dr. Juan Rendon continues, “We are specialists.  Our entire practice, from the people we hire to the facility where we work, to  the  supplies  we  use,  is  set  up  to  provide orthodontics exclusively.  We have all graduated  from  dental  school  and  then received an additional 2-3 years of specialized training in Orthodontics.  We are all members of the only accredited orthodontic specialty group – the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) – and we follow their guidelines on professionalism and service, including regularly attending courses and seminars to keep up on the latest orthodontic techniques.”

Both Drs. add, “We have a conservative treatment philosophy you can trust.  We provide an honest, uncomplicated and straight forward treatment approach for all ages.  You will see the same doctor every time.  That is so important in orthodontic care.  We want our patients to feel comfortable and happy in our office.”

The Drs. also believe in praising their patients for their efforts.  Dr. Castano-Rendon says, “Everyone likes to be recognized for a job well done, so we have incentive programs that reward our patients.  The Early Rendon Rockers Club is for our younger patients, where participants get complimentary visits for us to monitor their growth and development.  Kids get to spin a wheel after each visit to win fun prizes.  The Rendon Rockin’ Rewards Program is for our older patients in orthodontic treatment.  It keeps patients motivated throughout treatment and allows them to earn tokens that can be redeemed for gift cards.”

With two convenient office locations, Rendon Orthodontics serves the cities of Frisco, Prosper, Celina, Little Elm, Allen, Plano, McKinney, and surrounding communities.  Both offices are comfortable and inviting and feature a spacious reception area, flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi for patients and parents, and video games that are fun for all ages.

Drs. Castano-Rendon and Rendon agree, “Our patients can count on the professional and support staff at Rendon Orthodontics to work diligently to ensure they receive state-of-the-art care with the highest level of compassion.  We’re dedicated to your health, and want to improve lives one smile at a time.”
