RENDON ORTHODONTICS IS “READY TO ROCK YOUR SMILE” BY DEBORAH DOVE PHOTO BY BRAD SUTTON

At Rendon Orthodontics, you’ll always see a friendly face, whether it’s Dr. Juan Rendon in the Allen office, Dr. Maria Castano-Rendon in the Frisco office, or their fantastic staff who go back and forth between the two offices.

“Our goal is to provide superior quality care from a highly trained staff,” says Dr. Maria Castano-Rendon.  To that end, she and husband Dr. Juan Rendon, who own the practice together, focus on hiring skilled team members who also all get along and bring the same commitment to customer service that the husband and wife orthodontists have.  Both doctors graduated from dental school in Colombia and hold Masters degrees—Dr. Maria’s in orthodontics and Dr. Juan’s in pediatric dentistry—and both worked in private practices in Colombia before moving to the United States.  After moving to the States, they both obtained their Certificate and Masters in Orthodontics from St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri and worked for large orthodontic groups in the metroplex before opening their own practice nine years ago. Now they are thrilled to be able to run their practice the way they want and focus on the things they think are most important.

“Our practice is very patient centered,” says Dr. Maria Castano-Rendon.  “We don’t just treat you.  You become family to us.”  Because of the nature of orthodontics, orthodontists see patients for a long time—usually one to three years—which allows orthodontists like the Rendons to really build long-term relationships with their patients.  “We have a simple and conservative approach in what we do. We don’t overtreat.  We only treat what is clinically necessary. We offer competitive pricing and payment plans with no interest.  Our patients know us and come to trust us.”

Since many of their patients are kids, the Rendons create a fun office environment that includes games for the kids to play while they’re waiting, reward  tokens for things such as no broken brackets and good hygiene, contests and raffles, and a special club—the Early Rendon Rockers—just for younger children in the observation program.

Rendon Orthodontics also offers the latest in technology, from Invisalign and self-ligating ceramic brackets to a new scanner that eliminates the need for messy trays for impressions.  Instead, a wand simply scans the teeth and sends the precise digital images to the cloud.  Both doctors and most of the staff are bilingual, and patients can go to either office for emergency care.  The offices are also paperless and digital.

“We can change the way people feel about themselves and boost their confidence. That’s incredible!”

Both doctors believe in supporting the community, and once a year sponsor a neighborhood lemonade stand where kids raise money for Kids Shouldn’t Have Cancer Foundation.  Dr. Juan Rendon and Dr. Maria Castano-Redon also participate in the Give Kids a Smile program through the North Texas Dental Society, which offers free dental services to underprivileged children.  Being co-chair of the program for the last 5 years, Dr. Maria Castano-Rendon has established the orthodontic screening that offers free orthodontic care for one to two deserving patients each year.

When you walk into Rendon Orthodontics, the entire staff’s joy and passion for what they do is immediately evident. “We love what we do,” says Dr. Maria Castano-Rendon.
