Peoples Mortgage, Efren Olvera “CLIENT’S FIRST” BY LISA JENKINS-MOORE

After fourteen years as a bank branch manager, Efren Olvera wanted a career with less automation and more one-to-one contact. As a natural people person, his wish was fulfilled as he transitioned into the mortgage industry with Peoples Mortgage in Little Elm. Efren explains, “I love interacting with my clients, hearing their stories, and helping to make their dreams come true.”

His goal is to always put his clients first, regardless of how that may fit with his own resources. Efren is dedicated to finding the perfect fit for each client, even if that means referring him to another broker.  Because of his integrity in this practice, his referral base is strong—people know he will work on their behalf even if it’s not in his own best interest.

As a Mexican-American, Efren is passionate about seeing the Hispanic community afforded the same opportunities as others. Sadly, he’s witnessed many questionable practices conducted with Hispanic clients who may not fully understand the benefits to which they are entitled.  Efren also loves helping first time homeowners so he can ensure they understand every aspect of their first home loan. He also offers VA loans for Veterans that honorably served our country.

Efren wants to make a difference in an unrepresented community, which he does not only through his business, but also through community service.  Efren has been on the board and chairman of several organizations such as Boys and Girls Clubs of North Central Texas, Little Elm Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Flower Mound, Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas, and more. He has taught financial education classes both in English and Spanish and volunteers with the Little Elm Fire Department Auxiliary.

When not working or volunteering, Efren enjoys time with his wife of 20 years, Jennifer, and his four daughters. As the only man in the house, he says he feels like “a modern-day king.” His girls adore and spoil him allowing him time for golf, hunting, fishing, softball, and smoking brisket.

What people are saying:

“Efren is on top of the process end to end. Does a very good job and takes care of any hiccups that may arise throughout the process. We would definitely use him again!”
