Though only opening in 2017, Celina Star Café is a restaurant name on everyone’s lips! Some have called young Tony Mehmedi’s restaurant the best place to have breakfast in Celina. Though only twenty, Tony has beaten the odds in the restaurant industry by opening not just one, but two successful restaurant locations, with more planned in the new future. Like its predecessor, the Frisco Star Café, Celina Star Café, does not disappoint.

Tony grew up in the restaurant business. His family is from Albania and owns and operates restaurants in the Belvidere and Rockford, Illinois area. Experiencing every side of the restaurant from dishwasher, to server, to chef, to manager, his extensive background in hospitality has served him well. Along with his business partner, Sinan Vllasaliu, the famous Albanian singer, they have created a venue everyone loves. He supports local businesses, buys eggs from a local farm in Prosper, and is looking forward to partnering with Tender Barbeque for use of their sauce. With outstanding menu creations, excellent service, and a friendly atmosphere the Celina Star Café is sure to be a continued success. Tony says, “I love serving people amazing food and watching how happy it makes them.”

He is currently working on a “daily features menu” and already offers a soup of the day. The menu boasts of delicious  breakfast entrees, fresh salads, and mouth-watering sandwiches and burgers, as well as lighter fare and a selection for children. For those busy folks who currently can’t pop in for a delicious treat, Frisco Star Café delivers, and is also available for catering corporate meetings, events, and more.

Tony is currently working on a new menu to accommodate restricted diets, including gluten-free and dairy-free options. City employees, law enforcement, and local teachers are given a 10% discount, and community service is something Tony is eager to add to his schedule. During football season, Tony feeds the Celina High Football Team’s coaches and players.

Though he doesn’t have much free time, when he does he likes to sample other restaurants, always looking to expand his knowledge and better his operation. His vision for the near future is to upgrade the Celina restaurant, open the upstairs area, change the staff uniforms, and add new menu items. They continue to update the backroom of the Celina restaurant, adding items on the timeline which shows the history of Celina.

Both Tony’s and Sinan’s family works in the restaurant , blazing their own trail with exciting food combinations and multiple locations over time. Tony is a driven business man with future vision of retail space and real estate ventures.
